Project Artist in Residence 2024

Our goal with "Artist in residence":

To create a platform for Swiss artists abroad in Switzerland, namely at the “Place of the Swiss Abroad” in Brunnen.

The Place of the Swiss Abroad in Brunnen should serve as a platform where Swiss artists living abroad will be able to connect with Switzerland..

“Swiss Abroad artists will connect with their country of origin and the Swiss get to know Swiss artists living abroad.”

Artist in Residence 2024

This year's scholarship was awarded by the jury to the musician and painter Nathaniel "Nat" Cartier
from Edinburgh/UK. The 25-year-old multi-instrumentalist impresses with his diverse talents
and enthusiastic performances.

Nat laid the foundations for his musical career as a child, during which time he lived with his family
in Switzerland. As a student he moved to Scotland, where he found his style and developed it significantly.
He is very much looking forward to the opportunity to reconnect more deeply with Swiss culture.

During his stay in Brunnen, Nat has been commissioned to produce three songs as part of his scholarship.
He will also paint four paintings together with his audience. The paintings created at various performances
will be auctioned off at the finissage.
